Your mind is a lot
like an attic.
What I do:
You know some of the stuff that’s in there, but there’s an awful lot more you’re not sure about – mysterious bags and boxes that have sat there for years, gathering dust. And when things are shaken up – say for moving house or renovating – these are opened up and finally you are exposed to all that’s in there. Only then can you take stock of what you truly have and what you can do with it.
This is a simplistic analogy, of course – but it sums up what I can help you to do: to look inside those mental boxes and properly understand some of the unacknowledged emotions that have been sitting there for so long, quietly affecting your thinking and behaviours. Do this and you can address them, eventually leaving you with a clearer mind and a contentment in who you are and where you’re going.
In the wake of Covid, the most disruptive global event in a hundred years, and in the shadow of advancing technology, the most unsettling global development since industrial revolutions, we are all shaken – and that’s not even including personal issues and challenges that have the same effect. So when it comes to confusion of thought and directional uncertainty, be assured that you are far from alone.
